In this class you will learn the basics of wood whittling. Instructor Bill Roper will teach you all steps from making basic cuts to achieving details for your wood artwork, even if you have never had a whittling knife in your hands. Knife safety and sharpening will also be covered.
The cost for this one day workshop is $125.00 per person. Class is limited to 6 students. Continental breakfast and lunch for both days is included. Supplies will be an additional $30.00 to purchase tools (to be paid to the instructor on the first day of class) or you can use the schools equipment for free.
Instructor: Appalachian Artist Billy Roper
Billy Roper is a self-taught North Georgia Folk Artist who works in acrylic paints, wood and stone. He is in collections throughout the U.S. and 30 countries. His art proudly celebrates his Appalachian & Cherokee Heritage.
